Be the Face of Big Country 102.9

Big Country 102.9 isn't just heard across Northern Michigan—we're out in our communities nearly every week.

We're looking for someone who enjoys meeting people, representing an iconic radio station and bringing promotions to life.

This position combines an engaging weekday midday airshift with a strong community and promotional presence.

Responsibilities

• Host a live weekday midday show.
• Represent WMKC at festivals, fairs, concerts and community events.
• Coordinate and execute station remotes and appearances.
• Set up and tear down station promotional equipment including tents, tables, banners, flags, prize wheels and displays.
• Work with our sales and programming teams to create memorable client experiences.
• Create engaging social media content from the field, including photos, videos, Facebook Live broadcasts, reels, and listener interaction that extends the WMKC brand beyond the airwaves.
• Help maintain promotional equipment and station vehicles
• Be an energetic, positive ambassador for Big Country 102.9 both on-air, online, and throughout the communities we serve. Assist with contests, prize fulfillment and station promotions.

The Ideal Candidate

• Friendly, outgoing and approachable.
• Comfortable speaking with listeners, clients and community leaders.
• Organized and dependable.
• Able to safely set up promotional displays and event equipment.
• Willing to work occasional evenings and weekends for station events.
• Loves country music and local communities.
• Prior radio experience is a plus, but personality, work ethic and enthusiasm matter just as much.
